Frequently Asked Questions

What is Gradwate.com?
Gradwate.com is a learning platform that runs on WhatsApp and the web. You can prepare for exams like WAEC and JAMB, take skills and professional courses, and earn credible, verifiable certificates — all from the phone you already use every day.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Gradwate.com works right inside WhatsApp, so there's nothing new to install. Some features — like proctored exams and certain course materials — open in your web browser through a secure link we send you.
How do I sign up?
Just message our WhatsApp number to get started. We'll verify your phone number with a one-time code and set up your account. That number is how you sign in, so keep it secure.
How much data does it use?
Very little for everyday learning — lessons and quizzes are lightweight text. Video lessons and proctored exams use more, so we recommend a stable connection for those.
Learning and courses
What can I study?
Exam prep (WAEC, JAMB, and more), plus a growing catalogue of skills and professional courses. New subjects and courses are added regularly based on what learners ask for.
How does daily practice work?
You learn in short, focused sessions — a set of questions, a lesson, or a quick quiz. Gradwate.com tracks your progress, keeps your streak, and explains why each answer is correct so you actually understand the material.
Can I learn at my own pace?
Yes. Practice as much or as little as you like. Some courses release content on a schedule to keep you on track; others are fully self-paced.
Certificates and exams
Are Gradwate.com certificates recognized?
Every certificate confirms that you completed a specific course or exam, at a specific time, with the score shown. It carries a cryptographic signature and a public verification link so anyone — a school or an employer — can confirm it's genuine. Note that Gradwate.com certificates are not a substitute for credentials from official bodies like WAEC or JAMB unless we state so explicitly.
What is a proctored exam?
For certain certifications, we supervise the exam to keep the certificate credible. After you give consent, we confirm your identity with a photo of your ID and a selfie, and your camera stays on with periodic snapshots during the exam. This data is treated as sensitive, stored securely, used only to check exam integrity, and deleted after the review period. You can read the details in our Privacy Policy.
What do I need to sit a proctored exam?
A device with a working camera, a supported browser (Chrome or Safari), and a stable internet connection. You'll be asked to allow camera access before you begin.
Can someone else take an exam for me?
No. Exams and certificates are personal to you. Impersonation or cheating leads to disqualification and can result in a certificate being revoked.
How do I verify a certificate someone shows me?
Open the verification link on the certificate. It displays the holder's name, the course, the issue date, and whether the exam was proctored.
Payments, plans, and refunds
How do I pay?
Payments are processed securely by Paystack. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
What can I buy?
Depending on what's available, you may find free courses, paid subscriptions, individual premium courses you buy once, and paid certification exams. The price is always shown before you pay.
What's your refund policy?
Courses: refundable within 7 days of purchase if you've completed less than 25% of the content.
Proctored exam fees: refundable before you start; once you begin the exam (give consent and start identity verification), the fee is non-refundable.
Certificates: non-refundable once issued.
Subscriptions: you can cancel future renewals anytime; the current paid period isn't refunded except where the law requires.
For refund requests, contact us with your payment reference.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Turn off renewal from your account in the web portal. You'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Parents and guardians
Can parents follow their child's progress?
Yes. A parent or guardian can be linked to a learner to receive periodic progress updates. If you're a parent and want reports, or want them stopped, contact us or use the opt-in link we share.
My child is under 18 — is that allowed?
Learners aged 13–17 can use Gradwate.com with a parent or guardian's consent, and a parent/guardian must consent before a minor takes a proctored, camera-based exam. Learners under 13 can't sign up individually. See our Privacy Policy for how we protect minors.
Accounts and privacy
How is my data handled?
We explain exactly what we collect and why in our Privacy Policy. In short: we use your data to run your learning and keep exams credible, we don't sell it, and we don't use your answers to train AI for third parties.
How do I access or delete my data?
You can export or delete your account from the web portal, or contact us. Some records (like certificates and payments) are kept for the periods required by law.
I think someone else accessed my account — what do I do?
Log out from the portal (this ends all active sessions) and contact support immediately.
